Off the coast of Okayama an island museum or maybe a museum island. A breathtaking experience that brings to life the vision of two men juxtaposed with the life of the island in a way like no other place on earth. The Island itself is an old industrial town with a very traditional look upon arrival. The streets and alley ways are narrow and quiet. Maze like in layout each turn was like a window.

In 1988 Tadao Ando a Japanese Architect began the Naoshima project with funding from Soichiro Fukutake. The two set out to create a cultural wonder of the world and a place where the works of art displayed here could only exist where they were. The structures on the island are a mixture of solid geometric concrete shapes that are built into the island. As the island grows it shapes itself around the architects concepts, leaving a malleable site ever changing.
